History of AEZ

The groundwork for AEZ began in September of 2002 when Sundeep Chanana, Mohit Jain, Himanshu Shah, and Sonu Gill collaborated on their ideas and plans for establishing a professional South Asian fraternity on the UC Berkeley campus. They envisioned a diverse organization that included students from several different majors and areas of study. After analyzing numerous options, including already-established South Asian organizations, it was clear to the founding fathers that no other organization accurately upheld the same ideals and values that they believed in.

On February 19th, 2003, the four founders officially established Alpha Epsilon Zeta, a professional fraternity dedicated to improving its brothers academically, professionally, and socially. The following Fall, Alpha Epsilon Zeta inducted its first pledge class, the Alpha class, into the fraternity.
